Must read

Kaushik Sengupta
Kaushik Sengupta
Kaushik Sengupta is a trained experimental particle physicist and a software engineer by profession. He harbors a profound passion for both fields; however, he derives particular satisfaction from disseminating academic research to a broader audience. Kaushik started his career as a researcher at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and Louisiana State University, where he collaborated with international scientists, including those from NASA, on high-energy particle physics experiments. Additionally, he has experience in educating university-level students in physics in India. Within his professional trajectory, he developed an interest in mathematical computing and software design, subsequently collaborating with engineers at AT&T to create software packages for data modeling and statistical forecasting.
Magazine 2025

In the very first issue of Curiositá, we’re thrilled to feature Sir Roger Penrose, the 2020 Nobel Prize winner in Physics. His incredible journey of perseverance and bold, unconventional thinking perfectly captures the spirit of curiosity and discovery that Curiositá is all about.

  1. I found this to be a fascinating article trying to explore the complex work of a brilliant physicist at the very forefront of foundational work in theoretical physics. The article by Kaushik Sengupta captures the story of the young boy who showed no particular signs of brilliance but who eventually grew up to be Sir Roger Penrose, Nobel Prize winner in physics in 2020 for his ingenious work on black holes and Einstein’s theory of General Relativity. The article also captures Penrose’s work on unified theory that attempted to combine General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. These are complex topics in physics and the author does an excellent job in covering and explaining these topics. If the goal of the article was to illuminate and explain Sir Roger Penrose’s foundational work to a broad audience, the author has brilliantly achieved that goal.
